On Monday, Donald Trump, the former president, posted a rumor spread by an OnlyFans model who backs MAGA. Samantha Gangewere known as „thatboostedchick“ on social media, claimed in a TikTok video that her nail tech’s cousin gets $700 weekly from Kamala Harris‘ campaign to show up at protests.

„I just left my nail salon, and my nail tech told me their cousin in South Philly gets $700 a week to go where Kamala’s campaign sends them,“ Gangewere said in the video. She also hinted that the cousin isn’t a U.S. citizen and can’t vote, but wants to earn the extra cash. Trump shared the video on his Truth Social platform sticking to his habit of spreading unconfirmed claims that cast doubt on grassroots backing for progressive causes.

Trump’s Baseless Claims

Trump has a history of spreading unfounded claims about paid protesters. During his 2016 presidential run, he called protesters against him „paid actors.“ , he made similar accusations about pro-Palestinian demonstrations at Columbia University claiming without proof that they involved „professional agitators.“

Sharing gossip from a nail salon is a new approach even for Trump, who enjoyed participating in rumors when he was a big shot in New York.

With 2 million Instagram followers, Gangewere has drawn attention for her controversial opinions on her X account where she has posted comments against transgender people. In one tweet, she hinted that transgender individuals should be put in institutions saying, „We got trannys running around thinking they’re biological women shooting up our schools.“ (Remember most mass shootings are carried out by non-transgender men.)

On top of her social media activities, Gangewere co-owns a steakhouse in Bethlehem Pennsylvania, with her husband, an Albanian chef. At their restaurant, a 17-ounce ribeye costs $58. Trump, who has shown his fondness for both steak and adult models, might have become interested in Gangewere for either or both of these reasons.
